My 2003 Honda Varadero XL1000V did that from new for the 10 years I owned it. I learned to live with it.
My current (temporary) bike, 2007 Triumph Tiger 1050 also does that.
My point is I guess, some bikes do, some don't. It's not just a Honda thing.
More often than not it would occur more nearing oil change time and a lot less with fresh oil.
