Has anyone actually tried the low seat? Low seats in general are less comfortable as they make them lower by removing foam. I suspect the AT low seat will be the same.

Haven't tried the optional seat but the 2 positions available with the standard seat offers plenty of scope for different riders. In 185cm. Low position I can flat foot easily. High position almost flat footed.

Did you get the low seat? How high did the bike feel without?

Maybe an old forgotten topic, but many new (not so tall) owners like myself, would like to know the outcome of your "Low Seat" purchase ?
Any feedback would be appreciated.

I've got about 1600 miles in the low seat and it is not noticeably less comfortable than the stock one. At 5'6" it allows me to easily get left foot flat or both about 3/4 down.

I fitted a low seat to mine, used it for about a month and ended up changing back to the standard seat.

My arse insisted on it, uber uncomfortable

Quite agree, tried my low seat briefly and went back to the standard one. For me the standard seats bad enough, a couple hours and my rear is tender ! The low seat was worse. Shame that on a bike like the AT the seats not super comfortable.

At 31.5" inseam it's a calf workout to ball of foot for long periods of time in stop and go. The California stop is a good adv technique. The low seat can help with frequent stops in city traffic or offroad where you may need to put a foot or two down. The higher seat helps slightly more with long ride comfort. It would be nice to have both to switch as needed. But everyone is different I got by fine for years with the klr and drz taller seat heights.

Thanks all, for you feedback.
yea! As i'm 5'6" it's only the take-offs and landings that's a little tricky at times.
Maybe a pair of Platform Boots like "KISS" might help, ha ha
