2016 CRF1000L Africa Twin Competition

Models Competing with the all-new CRF1000L:
  • BMW R1200GS,
  • Ducati Multistrada 1200,
  • KTM 1290 Super Adventure R

Actually I think the KTM 990 ADV is a better rival then the 1290. The 990 is lighter and slimmer like the CRF1000L

Its a pretty small market. A brand as big as Honda shouldn't have too much a problem getting its part of the market share.

I'm sorry I wasn't aware BMW and Ducati were small brands... Ducati is backed by Audi now...

wrong, none of these is direct competition for new AT. All four are are more street oriented bikes, AT is not. The closest here maybe is KTM as the only one here having 21" front tyre.

Competing models for crf1000l are tiger 800 XC, F800 GS, V-Strom 1000, KTN 990 ADV.

Scratch the V strom. Its street oriented, and I wouldn't take it anywhere near some of the places my AT will be going.

V-Strom is more of a touring bike. Which one do you guys think will be the main competition for the CRF1000L Africa Twin?
