AT Dislikes?

Place for all negatives about the AT.

I think the negatives are almost more important then the positives. You know what you like and what you want, but more important is knowing what you don't like and if you can live with those dislikes in the long run...

Couple quickies from here

  • Long 1st gear. When idling the AT trundles at 14km/h - this is too fast for technical terrain. Can hopefully be fixed by a smaller front sprocket.
  • The readout display uses negative LCD (black background, light lettering) which is sometimes hard to read during daylight.
  • The throttle is a little too sensitive on the manual model – not a problem on the DCT.
  • The stepped seat is distracting when you ride technical terrain. Honda isn't planning to sell a straight bench unless customers demand it. Companies like Touratech will probably provide one at a premium price.

LCD issue as mentioned is my biggest dislike. Hopefully that's something they change.

LCD issue was not mentionned by all the tests. Same for the throttle.
Seat was mentionned as very good by other tests.

As usual, feelings depend on the rider.

I come back to my comments. I just read a french article. They complain about the lisibility of the LCD (Sun).

I think a strip of Anti-Glare should solve the issue well!

Ordered a DCT tricolor, but disliking Honda's insistence that a high seat option doesn't exist at point of order....... despite them dishing this data out at the shows

this was Honda UK saying so at the show? Have you checked with other dealers to make sure your guys not just giving it to you?

Spoke to Honda UK, who confirmed the options are available - but also said the UK dealer network had not been sent details or pricing, and would have it by the end of the week

Poor coordination really!

Maybe it's be better waiting to ride one before trying to figure out what you think are problems ?
