Is it me, or does the tubular crash bar on the front look like a set of headgear? I like the lines on the bike and that guard totally ruins it for me. Yes, you can clearly see that if you drop it, that's where the nose damage would likely be, but good golly. Maybe one in black would look a little better and less pronounced.
I hope that we see nicer looking alternatives from TT and other companies. And while I'm at it, the skid/bash plate looks underwhelming. That exhaust being as exposed as it is on the right side scares me. Again, TT, or whomever, build a semi-affordable black skid plate that protects all of that, please.
Just me being picky, especially since I learned that the Crosstourer is coming. Guys, I might bail on the AT and go CT with knobbies. :surprise:
The VFR1200X has a stunning engine and tubeless wire wheels bit of a porker though but if you spend a bit more time on the sealed stuff than off a real cruise missile.
It seems everyone is just waiting to see what company brings out a good practical crash bar everyone seems to have the same opinion about the Honda ones I personally will not go off road until I get some sorted I've seen the givi ones and they look very good but they are in the manufacturing stage so not available at the moment so it's a waiting game
Yeah, I'm waiting until I have crash bars before going offroad too. I'll spend the time getting more used to it so I'm less likely to drop it when I do venture off the tar. I'm very conscious that it's twice the weight of my dirtbike.
Call it whatever you like but to me......it's a safety item. I hit a deer at 50mph with a set of Hepco Becker bars (upper and lower bars) with my old 2008 GS and without this "headgear" I'm sure my bike would have been unrideable. For me, I'll never go without any EVER as its not just when the bike falls over but when Mother Nature has other ideas for ones riding trip.
