I went through all this but wanted the GPS to be on the same plane as the instruments so I cobbled together a bracket with the help of a friend, using aluminium strips and rubber mounts from a bicycle accessory:



It works really well!

That's about what I was thinking of for a GPS mount. Guess I'll have to wait until I get a GPS and see what the standard mounts will let me do.

I just used a standard "mirror stem GPS mount" to mount my Tom Tom, and fits fine. 1400 miles and solid.

Simple clamp
