In the summer I was seeing 40-48 MPG (U.S.) depending on my riding. During the winter I have been seeing 38.2 MPG (U.S.). We use winterized fuel wich I assume is most of the issue. I have 8,400 miles on my Twin too, so it is relatively pretty broken in.

Fuel economy I don't really care about.

Fuel range, I do. Coming off a GSA with 38 liters, no matter what, 500 km range. Usually more.

So far on the @, 6.1 l/100 kms measured. 6.8 on the dash.

My GSA did better than that, being a 1200 old tech air cooled fat *******.

In Canada, so still winter fuel. Only 2k kms on the clock so far. I really hope this gets better, because having to stop every two hours for fuel will suck huge.

I see that safari is doing a bigger tank up, I'm watching that closely.

I got 413klm for 18.1ltrs last fill up. (4.38ltr/100klm)
Have 6000klms total on the bike so far, Avg consumption says 4.4ltr/100klm so it's pretty close.
Much better than my 650R.

I'd be happy with those numbers, myself.

You have 3500 more kilometres on your bike, hopefully this is indicative that the motor will loosen up.
