British Army Adventure Riding Training Film- 1940's Norton One Lunger

Saw this on Ride Apart today and actually watched to the end. It's about 90 minutes; first 60 minutes are just nostalgia and maintenance training on learning to ride the old Norton. Last 30 minutes are interesting as the British Army instructor trains on how to deal with mud, hills, water crossings, rocks and other interesting obstacles.

Some of the techniques make use of using the compression release to moderate engine braking on slick downhill surfaces, but some of the other techniques are still pretty relevant to hour high-tech babies.

Lol to funny... narrator says: “treat the throttle gently, with respect, avoid the flashy use of the throttle “ well I guess I failed instructions and wow! Starting that old Norton is like a checklist in a aircraft; but funny how the actual kick in kickstarting is pretty much still the same after all these years..
Good post.. thanks

BTW didn’t watch it all yet, ran out of time this morning, but will watch the rest soon..
