How to make your Remus Okami sound better in one easy step

Added a Remus Okami to the bike.

Nice exhaust but with the baffle in it sounded a bit too muffled to me, a little raspy...

With it out, it's a bit too loud for around town use and looks a little odd too... But it did feel like it made a bit more power.

So I took the baffle and cut off the section of it that was pinched closed, obstructing the exhaust flow. Then put it back in.

Now it looks good and the sound is perfect. The power feels good too.

Did you just hacksaw the end off then? Have got this can and actually pretty happy with the sound with the baffle in but always looking for something to play with! Thanks for the post and pics 👍🏻

No, it's just a slip-on muffler replacement. The cat is part of the header pipe.

Link pipe or straight slip on

I have a Remus Hexacone can from a previous bike in carbon which has only seen 3000 miles use. I would like to fit it to my Africa twin when I get it (on order). I guess I will need a mounting bracket from Remus or maybe adopt the existing one. But is there an adaptor pipe I need or is it a straight slip on. Anyone know the pipe diameter into the can?

It is a straight slip on. But the bracket that it comes with is a nice piece of kit and everything lines up perfectly. You might want to just sell that Hexacone and buy the Okami.

How long is the Okami as a comparison. The hexacone was quite expensive and would like to reuse it if I can. And it looks good?

Not sure offhand, I can measure the can later. I usually get good money for my used exhausts that covers a lot of the new one.

Won't be good when you ride though mud. ;-)
