Africa Twin 2017 vs 2018?

Hello I'm new to the board, I felt in love in Africa Twin, earlier I was riding KTM EXC 450, Husaberg FE570 and similar staff. Now I want something more calm.

My question is what would be your choice - 2017 with good discount or 2018 for full price? I thinking about DCT.

Cheers!

Don't believe that there are any differences between the 17 and 18 in the standard models... However, on the Adventure Sport Anniversary model, there are many changes...

2018 with a deal/discount. Itís a better bike than the 16/17ís. But if cash is the main sticking point then get a good deal on a 17.

Actually there are quite a few:
- new dash layout
- new traction control with 7 steps
- throttle by wire
- stainless spokes
- self-canceling indicators
- revised exhaust and engine mapping to improve sound and mid-range.

Cash is not a deal breaker but a few $ that I save I can invest in some mods so that's why I'm asking.

And new anodising to sort the fork wear problem ;0) dct is the way to go :0p :0), but have you had a go on one, find a dealer that has a manual and dct and try both. The 18 dctís have an auto blip function when changing down, which adds to the experience.

Looks like the 18 is a way to go. I want to try DCT, I was always dreaming about Rekluse clutch in my dirt bikes and it seems that DCT is some kind of substitute for it so it should be good for me.

Best mate from school lives in Beckley WV, heís looking at getting a ATAS dct next year, anyway, he popped into his local Honda dealer and enquirer about the new bikes, only to get a reply of ďwhat new Africa TwinsĒ, the dealer denied knowing anything about any new Honda Africa Twin, and suggested he buy their current stock! He educated them and then walked away.

If you decide you want a new 2018 AT, go for it and donít let the dealer give you any bull***t.

I don't have that problem here in Poland, local dealer have 17,18, ATAS 17 and 18, DCT, manual etc. so it's only my problem what to choose

Jimmy Lewis of Dirt Bike Test put out a video of the ASAT and spoke highly of the DCT
Check it out.

It convinced me to by DCT and 2017 then just do my own modifications with the savings.
