No, we improved that. This was only the first series, we switched to black stainless steel screws after we found out about this problem.

However, we stand behind our products. So when you got one of the first batch with the old screws, just send us an email with you full name and address to [email protected]
We will send you new stainless steel screws then

Me too - and I'm guessing Honda thinks so too which is why clear 'visors' as they call them are now available for both of the 2018 models. I would buy some and try fitting them to my 2017 bike, but the Madstad screen being wider has probably achieved the same result. (I bought a MRA deflector and it made no difference to buffeting or peak vibration - don't want to risk spending money on the Givi potential solution)

So, 08R74MJPG50 is the OEM part # for the Honda "upper wind deflectors"

Around U$150 for two pieces of molded black plastic and some 3M double sided tape seems a ⸮bit steep⸮. I'm looking at either fabricating my own, looking for a 3D model (I got access to a 3D printer) and attaching it either with the double sided tape or using a threaded insert rivet for a cleaner, more permanent look. Will post a new thread asking other members that might have used it to see if it's worth all the work.

Random angry man rant: I'm originally from Brazil and have lived and ridden there and in Europe. The first time I felt that we in the US are like a Developing Nation was when shopping for a cell phone and how limited and crappy the options here are compared to elsewhere, including "official Developing Nations with Emergent Economies". Now, trying to get accessories for the Africa Twin, I'm getting the same bad taste in my mouth. We are either a second thought for the manufacturers or (my only opinion after a few beers) we are getting systematically screwed. Please convince me that the wind dynamics and their ridiculously priced solution were not put there by design?!?!?!

well you should feel sorry for us in poor old blighty. As far back as I can remember prices of anything in the UK has been the same 'numerically' as that in the USA. So if a bike was 10,000 dollars in the US, the same bike would be 10,000 pounds sterling in the UK. That's even though one pound sterling should buy about $1.40 cents

Ordered mine yesterday ! Went out for a ride and noticed buffeting from around 65mph upward (loud booming and ringing noise in helmet) if I put my left arm and hand over the gap it stops this noise significantly. So I'm sure the deflector will help.

I was riding my mates 800 GSA and a demo 12GS Rallye last week and felt a rush of air up through the forks just like the AT has. Yet no peak buffeting was felt and I’ve concluded that it’s more down to the angle of the front of the AT/screen than what comes up through the fork tunnel plus the AT seems narrower at the front which may be why Honda sell those extra bits of wind deflection add ons.

Saying all that, whatever works for you, go for it. I’ve found my satisfactory set up, good luck finding yours.

I solved the the problem with the swegotech deflector + short screeen puig in spring/summer and oem atas screen + screwed touring mra deflector in autumn/winter
i ride with shoei hornet adv 10.000 km with NO problem.
