Does anyone here have a template for making a Forkshield-Updraft-Deflector for us do it yourselfers, would be so easy to make with the right dimensions.
yes thats them, they would be a 5 minute job to make them yourself if we had a template & only cost us a few dollars, most of the ones for sale from the dealers are copies of the original design so I wouldnt feel bad about copying a copy, $40 is a lot for a product that is stamped out in a Chinese factory for only cents
I have it; I did design my own for my bike simply beacuse I did not like the RuugedRoad version. I will be more than glad to share the drawing but it is only for the ATAS.
Thanks for the offer but mine is an AT, Ill problaly have to make one myself as I have a steering dampener fitted & expect the of shelf ones will hit the shield, what material did you use?
I used a 2mm clear PC sheet and on top of that a 0.5mm Prepainted Galvanised Steel Sheet (in black color).
The spacers needed to simulate the integrated spacers on the OEM bolts (which you shall need to replace), I made them through 3D printing. Bad I think you can manage with proper diameter of plain washers.

Made my own. Used a cardboard template. Bent down front corners and pop riveted to the Origanal piece. and used silicon caulk to hold to the plastic around all the edges. Seems to work and look good. Not another pieces of plastic. Thin aluminium. Hope this helps.
I'm not really bothered by buffeting, and I wear full face dirt helmet with a large beak and no face shield or goggles (it's been 100+ degrees every day this month). But I'm curious if I would notice a difference. I have to sit back really far so that my knees fit the tank cutouts - so maybe I'm sitting so far back that it misses me? I have noticed that my street helmet seems to have more buffeting than the dirt helmet - but it doesn't seem really bad (not like what I had n my VStrom).
