Welcome, Ricardo! What part of New Mexico? I’ve been down in the Gila and there are some amazing roads down there I’d like to check out one day.

I'm glad to read you from the country of México. I'm 63 and I bought a brand new 2017 AT DCT last week-end.

Is it safe to ride in your country?

I own and drive motorcycles since the age of 17. I have dreamed all my life to go riding motorcycle in your country but I'm scared because of what I have heard about security and criminality. Also, I don't speak spanish at all.

Can you tell me about riding and living in your country? Where to go and where not to go?

Thank you!

Hey!!
Glad you are interested in riding in Mexico.
I am 62 and also been riding motorcycles most of my life.
Due to some disability on my lower extremities I always ride maxi scooters (BMW C 650) until I run into this Africa Twin DCT that I just got and have put 1,000 kms on it so far. Great bike, I am happy with it.
Anyway, about Mexico, you should not believe everything you hear about the security issues. Like most of the countries in the world, there are lots of safe places to ride and few places we do not want to go.
I have a riders group, most of us on the 60 year old range and do short trips on weekend, about 200 km and eventually longer trips(2,500 kms)to central and northern Mexico. Also we do some trips to the southern part of USA as we live in Monterrey, Mexico just a couple of hours from Texas.
About not speaking spanish, not to worry, averbody in Mexico speaks english!!!
