Hi from Nothern Beaches, Sydney

G'day all, I bought an Africa Twin a few weeks ago. My wife gave me the nod to get a new one, but we're renovating which costs a bomb and I wasn't sure if adventure riding was going to be my thing so I got a used one. I shouldn't have worried as I'm 57, been riding since forever and only ever owned one road bike which was the last bike I had and didn't enjoy it that much. Anyway, last weekend I went on a ride with my 17 closest buddies from Sydney to Jindabyne with loads of dirt in the mix. Had an absolute blast.

It looks like I will be around for a bit because the bike is awesome. It came with tkc80s on it, proper hand guards, bash plate, crash bars so ready to roll offroad. The person they designed this bike for must have been my long lost twin brother because the bike couldn't fit me better and doesn't need any mods to get it to fit at all.

No doubt I will have some questions, so looking forward to finding out some things about the bike.

Cheers
Chris

Hi Chris! Yes, the Africa Twin is awesome. Get stuck into it. Next time go south from Jindabyne on Barry Way. Swim in the Snowy!

The more you've found, the less you've been around.

G'day wombat. I went to put in wombat as my username and was advised it was already taken which is why I went for The wombat. Okay, this Barry Way must be something special. Looking forward to checking it out!

Two wombats in one thread. What are the odds?
Welcome! I was in Australia in 1994 and I'd love to come back to tour on a bike. Wilson's Promontory - Lots of late night wombat sneak attacks on my tent with their friends the possums trying to get in and steal stuff as well.
