Wow, that was a hard read. Thanks for sharing.

God speed. I hope your recovery continues smoothly.

It should give us all pause. We are all of us, there but for the Grace of God - each and every time we ride out.

I had a pretty bad one in my late teens.

But your story reminded me of a passage from one of my favorite novels:

(Describing a memory from the Korean war).

"...and the queasy-quince taste of 1951 and the Orient...

I came to myself under a chindolea bush. Everything is upside down... My shoulder didn't hurt but it was pressed hard against the ground as if somebody sat on me. Six inches from my nose a dung beetle was scratching around under the leaves. As I watched, there awoke in me an immense curiosity. I was on to something. I vowed that if I ever got out of this fix, I would pursue the search..."

The Moviegoer by Walker Percy

Stay strong. Continue the "search." Gary

What a truly spectacular and inspiring story Tim and as I read that, I was there with you.

Your Guardian Angel was watching over you and kept you safe after the accident as it could have been much, much worse!

You are in my Prayers for sure

Good luck with your rehabilitation. Probably going to take a while before you're functioning how you want to be.
Glad to hear that you made it out alive and will get another chance to follow your passion of riding.
