I put an SH40 topcase on my bike this weekend and I must say I am very happy with the quality. I especially like that I can leave the case unlocked and remove the key; very convenient.

You can do it also with the Honda oem topcase. First unlock, then open the lid lever, then lock again. Now the topcase fastening lever is locked, but the lid lever not. You can use the lid lever without key.

I have to say first up I hate tank bags simply because of the hassle of removing when filling up, but with the amount of electronic crap I carry with me now I needed some place to get to that easily. I went to the E04 tank bag its the smallest they have and I am very happy with the way it goes on and off. If you remove it it also makes the bike look fairly stock with just the slightly longer pins showing.
The bags are semi rigid and very happy with the purchase.

Like the looks of the Shad cases. Can you lock the tank bag on the bike? Wouldn't want it walking off when I am away from the bike.

No, the PIN system is not lockable, however if you are not sure to leave the bag in your bike, you can easily remove and place it inside the top case or you can carry it.
