I’ve been lurking here for a couple weeks, and figured it was time to introduce myself. I purchased a leftover 2018 ATAS manual last week, traded in my 2015 KLR. Have only put 125 miles on it, but am very impressed with the road manners. When I get some more protection on it, I may feel better about taking it off the pavement. This bike is way too pretty.

I enjoy getting far away from civilization and have had my KLR on some very rugged tracks. Here in AZ, we have lots of rocks to deal with. The ATAS feels bigger when stopped, but easier to ride when moving. It will be interesting to see how it handles in the dirt and rocks.

I went to the ATAS because I wanted to see some new country after riding most of the stuff within a few hours of where I live. Needed something better at eating up the miles to get to new places. If I give up some dirt worthiness so be it.i
