The Xl250s was pretty much the bike I learnt to ride on when I was 15. Had a mate who used let me borrow it while he was at work.
His was the same colour. Honda call it blue but I would call it purple. Definitely the rarest colour as most were red or white around here anyway.
Not sure about nowadays but the XL250 and 500S were the only bikes ever factory built with a 23 inch front wheel. Not much in the way of tyre choice.
I bought mine as an x field bike. All the electrics had been removed badly. I ended up getting a new loom and adapting it to U.K spec.
Its still a great bike even at 40 years old.

That bike seemed big at the time. I was so happy with it. (One of my buddies had a lime green Kawasaki KX400 and I have to admit I had some cc envy sometimes. But that 2-stroke just made too much noise for me--like a big chain saw running through the woods. I was very happy with my 4-stroke and the power and torque my bike had--could go just about anywhere).
Thanks for the picture. Brings back memories.

|Oldtech||Got a 79 CBX and a 76 GL1000 roadworthy with a 77 GL1000 in the back of the garage that's ready to go but I can't afford to insure all of them. Found a nice CB550 that had been sitting for a couple of decades and got it back up and running. Rode it for 2 years then sold it on. Also have a CB350 vintage racer. Yes I have a thing for Hondas.|

Having the seat like that is what keeps me on the bike when i punch it. Its got some get up and go. Went to pickup my plate at harley dealer where i bought the AT. Asked the parts guy who use to own the bike if he had the stock seat. He sold it to me for 50bucks[emoji1]
