Michael Knox Nice install. How do you get the bar weights out? I tried installing mine yesterday but can't get the things out. I saw some videos online where they said there were little holes under the grips that you can use to free the clip inside but I don't have any. Do you put the bar weights back in after or do you just leave them out?

squid6 How is the vibration without the weights?? Stock is already a little buzzy and shaky at certain speeds.

thank you for the compliment.
yes I did spend lots of time researching etc.
I would say you can fit any aftermarket hand guards with little or no mods other then pulling the brass weights out. witch I can put back in still if to buzzy in the bars.
clutch side I had move the mount in less then 1/16 to clear hand guard.
brake side I had to cut ball off the shop didn't have a shorty lever for it yet.
also the bolt that mounts the guard to the bar mount is about 1/4 inch to long just touches the brake hose.
I will be grinding the threads down easy simple fix .

PLEASE remember. I have the pro bend cycras with 1 1/8 mounts NOT the CRM cycras .
I can not say they will fit but most likely they will without issues.

everyone have a nice day happy trails.

squid6 Thanks for responding Jason but if the pic you sent for the H&B mount to the handlebar like the picture you sent then there would be no way to adjust the protectors up or down as they appear fixed at one angle unless you bend them or move the bar to match there angle. They should be strong but I usually need a little adjustment up or down due to how I like my bar and controls, high and forward on the bars with the controls pointed down a bit. So with that type of mount I would think they may be too low with my setup? Bummer I do like the look!
Thanks again this helped me make my decision to go with bark busters for now.

Denburger Hi JasonWD,
After you pointed out that the H&B's mount to the Bar Mount point, I checked out their web site and found the PDF installation manual. It looks like you also retain the OEM internal bar weights, is that correct ?
If so this could be a winner, as there is a reason HONDA install internal bar weights.

Massive Lee Well. You can buy generic $25.00 eBay hand guards. But the fit might not be as perfect as Barkbusters made specifically for your AT. You may have to bend them to better fit.

When choosing your generic hand guards, pay special attention at how the little bracket that bolts to the handlebar is shaped. Compare with the Barkbuster bracket.

Yeah, the H&B ones are just the metal bits that go from the bar clamp to the bar end... I assume your bike came with the plastic guards?

The other massive advantage I realised with the H&B handguard bar things is that the force of the bike is transmitted through the whole handguard and bar when it falls, not just the bar.

They effectively reinforce the width of the bar; pretty cool.
