I do ride in cold weather using heated gloves and socks plus layers. As long as there is no ice risk I'm OK. Wet on top of that make me think twice. Not much fun being cold and wet.

Disconnect the battery and leave the ignition in the on position overnight.
Make sure the tubes up under the tank are drained of oil - posts elsewhere.....
