The spokes are being replaced for 2017 with double dipped ones not stainless steel. They are the same as the ones fitted to 2017 model.
The spokes will be sent to dealers who will outsource the re-building of the wheels to 3rd party specialists.
I'm on my second set of wheels, first set replaced by complete wheels under warranty. This set have 'gone' in 400 miles.
I'm now waiting for the new double dipped spokes to be sent to dealer for wheels to be rebuilt.
My original wheels will be rebuilt at central wheels UK so my bike is not off the road for any length of time.

I'm getting a new tri colour in January and would be interested to know if my bike is coming with these new spokes. Are the dealers aware.

I wonder if these are what was sent to my dealer and fitted last week.
They didn't replace the whole wheel, the new spokes were sent to my dealer and allocated 6hrs fitting labour time.

just had Honda UK agree to replace my spokes with the later ones. My dealer has the job of changing them.
I would still rather use this opportunity to fit stainless spokes and nipples, make the rims tubeless, I've used the central wheel co before, is there anyone else you guys can recommend ?
would rather have externally spoked rims like the 1200 tenere or triumph explorer,
I know there is a tape to seal the spokes but will it last
any ideas ???

Can anyone confirm if the 2017 bikes come with upgraded spokes? My 2017 looks okay but has seen only minimal use before the weather got too cold to ride. I don't mind wrenching on the bike in the off season and figure if I need to make a change, I just assume do it now while everything is new.

Have any US riders had their stock wheels replaced with better spokes or bought new hub/rim sets altogether? Where do you go for either option in the US? I hate to spend $2,500 on new rims and hubs but I guess if I do I can have two sets of tires/wheels handy.

My spokes are being replaces at the moment, mine weren't all that bad but they shouldn't be dodgy in the first place. No arguments with Honda, there are 3 ATs here that need new spokes.

Am I correct in thinking that the downside of stainless spokes is that they can be brittle? If that is correct I don't think it would bother me that much as I am a road user only.

2018 models are to have proper stainless spokes.
Too late as I already have a 2017. I guess I could have the bike laced with new spokes but what a pain. I can't find anyone who sells a hub/rim kit that has the stock sized rims. Can't believe Honda was so cheap on something like spokes. That is sad.
