After picking up my new ride I asked about tenders and they replied that there’s no room to install behind the battery box? What mods are being used to install?
or can you charge battery through 12 volt plug on dashboard?

I've connected the permanent +12v for mine to the main input side from the battery of the starter solenoid (behind the battery box, on the right-hand side of the bike, obviously with an in-line fuse holder. It's a bit of a pain to get to, but does keep the wires out of the way and leaves the battery box untouched. Do disconnect the battery while you do this, though, as there's not much space between the solenoid connector and the frame, so a direct short of the battery while you're connecting up is a distinct possibility if you don't!
I've run an earth from the main earth point under the fuel tank (as I use that for all of the earths for my other additions), but there are plenty of other places more accessible if you're only connecting a battery tender.
