When you get too decrepit to ride two wheels would you consider a side car, or something else?

Personally I would say the leading link is the main culprit, it will be extending the front wheel much further out than stock and producing a lot of leverage onto the head stock. Add to that the leading link suspension works a lot different from the oem forks in that the wheel will not compress in line with the headstock in the way oem forks would. To my mind the leading link will be be producing forces that are flexing the headstock fore and aft with suspension travel.
Lastly the frame was designed to flex, well according to Honda anyway, problem is the forces acting on it now with the leading link will be far different than from oem forks and thus the flexing of the frame is now not at the points Honda envisioned.

The solutions you propose may help or they may just shift the problems to other points but you certainly have nothing to lose by doing them and hopefully a lot to gain.
