Anxiously waiting arrival in the States

3829 Views 10 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  SkipD
Getting impatient with the delays in delivery to the States, thinking about heading up to Canada to pick one out. Anyone know if you can toggle between KPH & MPH or if the dealer service department can plug in and change that?

Thanks

Hi Sparky

In Europe you use the left hand switch gear to SEL(ect) between kph and mph. Likely to be the same for US.

Don't blame you for getting impatient. It's a great bike and worth the wait.

We're in the same boat (quite literally) as you guys. I believe I ordered the last available one here!
Hi Sparky,

There aren't any here Sparky. I ordered mine at the Toronto Motorcycle Show a few months ago. The dealer only had three coming. I think it was a Black manual in May, a Silver DCT in June (mine) and a Rally Red manual in July. I was told that there were only 50 coming for Canada and 120 coming for the U.S. on the initial dealer orders. Then apparently the dealers will get 1per month after that initial order. I was told that the earthquake didn't affect the delivery of the Canadian orders. We shall see, but I think all the inventory coming in to dealers in the next 3 months have been sold. Call Honda U.S. and ask them if they know of any in their distribution network that aren't sold.

Good Luck,

In theory you can, but it may depend on some restrictions. I have an Australian version and we don't have the option to switch between km and miles - the menu option is just not there, but on some models (Euro or UK I think) there's another menu so you can choose miles or km, and then the fuel consumption units. We just get L/100km, but if your speedo reads in miles you can choose mpg or miles/L (!) for fuel consumption.

Not sure if miles means UK or US though, which would definitely be something you should know.

1 UK gallon = 4.546L
1 US gallon = 3.785L

Bloody ****. I hope I can on mine because I plan to spend a lot of time in the land of the lost unit!

Can you imagine being in the deep south and asking some ******* "excuse me fine sir... how many kilometres to the nearest petroleum vendor?"

You can change the Aussie mileage readings: Owners Manual page 38-43 (Instruments - Display settings) you run through; Clock, Background Brightness, HISS Indicator, Speed & Mileage, Fuel Mileage, Subtraction Trip. You can select Ks or Ms, & then change fuel mileage. (if you have selected Miles, you can select MPG or miles/L).
I would think that most ATs would have this option.
