Any problems with engine heat on the rider?

Hello All,

I'm considering an 1100 ATAS purchase, and I would like to read about your opinions on engine heat output onto the rider.

Years ago, as I was considering the 1000 AT purchase, I was told that the heat output onto the rider was pretty high, and some thought very high. It was solvable then, with the purchase of Honda OEM set of "wings" to re-direct the engine heat / radiator output away from the rider.

Has this problem been solved with this new model?

Thanks.

I just uninstalled fork wind deflector because the heat was too hot in brasilian summer. I hope it gets better now.
I am sensitive to this issue, because, well, Tucson AZ.

The Triumph 800's were particularly bad for this reason.
From Tucson also and agree about the Tiger 800. Worst bike I've owned with regards to heat radiating to the rider. Best , VFR1200F. My '18 is just average.
This part of the world I wish there was more heat coming from the AT.

You get the same amount as me.
I feel this terrible heat on my 2021 atas DCT, so I am very disappointed and thinking to changing to tiger 900 rally pro, thoughts?

Have you got the optional deflectors? Not sure how much they would help but they definitely direct the air from the fans out a bit.

I am thinking to buy one but in Aliexpress there is no adventure sports version
2022 ATAS DCT stock except for SW crash bars. I rode it last week for about 200km. Granted that it is the dry/cool season here in the Philippines until about February, I haven't felt an excessive amount of heat when I was caught in a 20min jam (around 27C temp). On the highway at about (100-120kph), no heat at all.

Rode the same route, this time at noon. After the tollway exit, I got stuck in a business district traffic for about 15min. On my Ninja1000, this would be the uncomfortable/hottest part of the ride. No airflow to dissipate the heat, engine dumping heat from the expressway ride. The ATAS display showed 39C ambient temp. I was hot because of the sun on my face but no uncomfortable heat from the engine to report.

Maybe affects more in humid weather, like Brazilian or korean summer.

Too hot to handle, major defect of bike, in humid days, you will go crazy
CRF1000 heat output in traffic on 40C humid summer days appears normal compared to other motorcycles. I do not find it unbearable on my production model. I've had smaller displacement bikes feel like they put out more heat under the same conditions. I would say, no defect.
Atas 1100 is remembering tiger 800 which was terrible on heat management

Do you still own the CRF1100 that you are so dissatisfied with the heat management?

Pretty humid here in the Philippines. Nothing unbearable on my ATAS so far. On my Ninja1000, yes, because it has two extra cylinders generating more heat.

... and maybe because Ninja wishes to rev more often. :)
