Anyone bought a crash guard/engine guard internationally and shipped to united states?

Hi All,
I have a 2020 Africa Twin and was going to buy a crash bar built in Germany and ship it to the United States. I was wondering about the import tariff rates I may have to pay.

I was able to find this while checking about rates online and its from June 2022- Customs Ruling NY N325923 - The tariff classification of e-scooter parts from China

Does anyone have experience with this stuff? Not sure if the above still applies, or if the crash bars will fit the same category.

Hello Poppy,

I ordered my Heed bars from Poland and received them within days and packed to survive an apocalypse. There were no broker fees, import duties or taxes.

Yeah that stuff is more for the commercial importers
I’ve never had to deal with that, you are by law supposed to pay a state tax on your imports when you do your federal income taxes…

This is what I needed to hear. Pulling the trigger on Heed crash bars next week.

Pay attention you order the "right model of bars" if in doubt send them an Email, they are very good in replying back quick.
They also sell;
  • custom tailored front bags (not completely waterproof especially around seams and zippers, but nice custom fit and useful)
  • Rear crash bars (they probably don't do anything to protect the exhaust in a spill, a set of rear panniers mounting racks will do a better job)
  • They come in Black and Silver

Very nice, Dado! I'm aware of being accurate on my order. So many configurations plus order is being sent from across pond. But I will take your advice and email them for accuracy once I place order. Learning towards Bunker Black.....
