What?? No. I agree that you should not have had to. Something doesn't sound right there. Who did your first service?

Have you seen any signs of any oil leaking since the service? I am wondering if they could have screwed up something during the service. Double oil gaskets because they left the old one on, poor filter installation, over/under-tightening or cross-threading of the drain plug. That is just not normal to have to put in 2 quarts of oil at 3000.My Local Honda dealer preformed it at 600 miles
Not a single drop that I have found. Trust me I have looked everywhere. I do ride it hard. My buddy that rides with me sees puffs of smoke when I am getting after it in the twisties. I think it may just be burning oil. But I am at a loss really.Have you seen any signs of any oil leaking since the service? I am wondering if they could have screwed up something during the service. Can you describe your failures for us?RIMS are not made for anykind of off pavement riding.
I cannot believe they RE-designed a bike that is marketed for off pavement riding and the RIMS cannot handle it. Honda doesnt seem to acknowledge this as an issue. If i had know this was a real issue i would have bought a K T M. I have only ridden on the type dirt roads this bike was "designed" for (< class 4) and it has failed. I now have to replace / repair at my expense, then i still need to buy another set for off road use.. thanks HONDA america you suck
Do a search there are various people with same issues (Not being a jerk)Can you describe your failures for us?
Complaining you have a problem, then when someone asks what the problem was, you tell them to look it up themselves. That's pretty jerkish dude.Do a search there are various people with same issues (Not being a jerk)
Yep these are definitely issues…Place for all negatives about the AT.
I think the negatives are almost more important then the positives. You know what you like and what you want, but more important is knowing what you don't like and if you can live with those dislikes in the long run...
Couple quickies from here
- Long 1st gear. When idling the AT trundles at 14km/h - this is too fast for technical terrain. Can hopefully be fixed by a smaller front sprocket.
- The readout display uses negative LCD (black background, light lettering) which is sometimes hard to read during daylight.
- The throttle is a little too sensitive on the manual model – not a problem on the DCT.
- The stepped seat is distracting when you ride technical terrain. Honda isn't planning to sell a straight bench unless customers demand it. Companies like Touratech will probably provide one at a premium price.
