Great to hear Stephen. I would be very interested to know what you think about the bike compared to your previous one. Also your first impressions of windscreen (high or standard) and level of noise/buffeting. I have found that at higher speeds there is buffeting at the base of my helmet with the high screen, although I can dip my head to resolve the issue (i'm 5'11'').

Hi Chris,
Thanks. Previous bikes dont really compare (vtr1000, husaberg 650 supermoto, CR250, XL250, GSXR 600 SRAD) as not quite the same job. Having said that, i cant see myself riding anything else now ..... except the supermoto .... thats just bonkers fun :)
As for the screen. Mine is the standard but i test ride the tall version.
For the tall screen, i found it bugged me a little as was marginally in my vision (5'10"). At all speeds wind noise was fine and turbulence very minimal ( didny have much to compare it to though) and all day comfortable.
Only a short blast on mine this morning (work work and more work) but if i have to comment there was maybe a slight increase in buffeting but today is much windier than when i tested the tall screen.
Happy to Let you know more once i get to put some miles on it.
Steve

Congratulations!

I'm hoping to get mine next Friday - same colour and transmission.

My first bike after 10 years - so excited! And a bit nervous.
Awesome.

Glad to know we will have another owner on the forum. Make sure to post some pictures of it once you take delivery.

What other bikes were you looking into before deciding on the AT?

Hi Adventurer. I think you've asked me that before! I've been here a while....

But, for the record, not having had a bike for a good while I looked at practically every bike before I decided on this sort of bike and in the end decided on the Afrixa Twin rather than a GS/GSA. Mainly because it rides almost as well on the road, better off the road(I'm told) and it's significantly cheaper with a better gearbox!

Finally picked up my bike this morning. Over the moon about it. Crappy weather isnt even noticeable. Havent felt like this about a bike in a long time. Happy days.
Good luck to all those getting theirs in the next days.
Just put down my $$ on silver DCT here in Southern Oregon, but I must wait til June!
You all are lucky.....

I've also ordered a Tri-colour DCT - Now told it will be the end of March before I get it.....Arghhhhhhhhh. :(. The dealer is making soothing sounds, & offering me rides on the Demo manual - It's just not the same!:grin2:

My pickup has been confirmed for Friday the 11th - only problem is that's the other half's birthday and I'm taking her away for the afternoon and the weekend so I won't be able to ride it! Doh!

Good luck with your delivery - hope the time passes quickly. Worth the wait I'm told!
