So having been very ill last few weeks finally got to point I could get to the garage and do few bits. Went to move the bike and its dead.

battery is showing 2.7v so my optmite want revive it. I assume battery is bricked which on a 11 month old bike is annoying. Any ideas if battery will be covered under warranty ?

Wouldn't think so if it has drained. Maybe a dealer will have a means of reviving.
If it is dead then do not buy an oem battery as there are cheaper alternatives.

Hate to say it but seem to recall battery is not considered a warranted part, at least not in US

Did you get a tracker device as part of your deal? I know it has been covered elsewhere on the forum but they are notorious for draining the battery in a number of days. When you get your new battery buy a Noco lithium tender or similar.

Sorry should have read your post properly. I see you've already got an optimate. I assume you didn't have it linked up during the down time?

I thought I did but joy of being laid up in bed sick I forgot. Will just have to buy a new one I am correct in thinking it has to be a same LiFePO4 battery cant just get a standard type one

A standard one of comparable ratings will almost certainly not fit.
There have been a few alternatives posted here on the forum, I have these bookmarked but double check just in case I have them wrong.

might have dodged the bullet , battery ordered and on its way £140 lot less than honda £550 that is taking the proverbial

Under normal conditions, at least if there is no drain on it or you disconnect the battery it will sit for a few months without any problems. So in most cases a tender is NOT needed ( per the manufacturer recommendations ).
Though it is a bit late here; the thing to remember is just disconnect the battery if you’re unsure about any devices draining it..

I was looking at that battery but it's only 4.5AH so it's under amps as the oem is 6AH so I manged to find this one which was a lot better for the price the only thing different is I would have to wire it in the tool box but you can see from the pics what I mean Motorcycle battery Lithium NX Power Start Racing 12V 6.9Ah

The battery will recover.
I was to tell you to connect it for it for several hours to the fully charged battery car to do a "blood transfer" to the bike battery.
But it seems it will live.

Yes you can go out spend money on a charger made for Li batteries put it on ( LOL,wait forever to change it to its fullest) . Run a load test, to see if it’s working. ( just to be sure )
You’ll be ok for a while, I’m guessing the bike is new not a used one.
The only thing I would suggest is to keep an eye on the heavy load drain, as in starting, basically our ECU’s don’t handle low voltage very well. I’m not exactly sure of the exact point this happens at but it seems to be in the 11v area.
Just something to keep in mind…
Running them down just makes the batteries age quicker,
So I guess it depends on how long you want to keep the bike and how much you use it. Keeping it long using it a lot just get a new battery, keeping a couple of years normal use you should be fine

I don't know a lot about motorcycle Lithium batteries, but this kind of batteries generally are protected from overloads, overcharge and excessive drain.

That little voltage might only be the protection circuit that has kicked in. I would give it a full charge and, if it works, I won't worry about it.

I'd expect a motorcycle battery comparison to include Motobatt and Varta brands, since it didn't I looked further and have two questions.
What qualification does Will More have to compare motorcycle batteries?
What testing criteria was used to evaluate manufacturers claims and battery performance?

This is no more than one unqualified man's opinion based on manufacturers given specifications, motorcycle forum posts and online reviews. Besides any of that it's an American site aimed at the American market, not much use to magic77.
