Be careful as the wiring of the quick shifter is weak.

Recently, the quick shifter broke down and the engine check lamp turned on. The cause was a break in the connection wire of the quick shifter.

The dealer was told by me that it couldn't be repaired, but you can repair it.

Since the strength of the base of the quick shifter is weak, it will easily break if pulled or bent.

Shave the epoxy resin with a leutor until you can see the wiring.
The order is red, black, and white from the top.

Check the continuity of each wiring with a tester.
Resistance value check
Red-white 173Ω
Red-Black 212Ω
Black-white 56Ω

In my case, the red line was broken.

Perform bypass surgery using a suitable wire.

Fix the scraped part with epoxy resin.

Check the continuity of each wiring with a tester.
Resistance value check
Red-white 173Ω
Red-Black 212Ω
Black-white 56Ω

The cause was not a failure of the quick shifter body, but a disconnection of the wiring. I'm happy to save money 😁

Great report @TETSUHIRO. This is one area I think Harley Davidson seems to excel at is tucking away as many exposed wires and tubes/hoses as possible. It prevents wear and tear exposure as well as other possible malicious motives.

Thanks for the post. Will you consider doing repairs of this quick shifter for other people?

Thank you for reply. I think there are various reasons for this shifter failure. I may not be able to repair it, so I cannot undertake the repair of others. But I hope this post will give you a hint and more people will repair it.🥰
