bike protection color

I thought I saw a thread about this but can't find it. I plan to get crash bars in white and panniers in white. My question is are they all generally the same color white from one manufacturer to another. Example Altrider crash bars and outback panniers. They don't appear to be the same white flake as the 2022 ATAS but are they similar to each other. I don't like the idea of different whites especially three of them.

I think you've answered your own question. You'd have to see them together in the metal before you could decide as even photos won't show the correct shades. You'll be very lucky to find somebody on the site with all these items fitted but there may be somebody out there?? Some bikes with contrasting crash bars etc look really good. Personally I agree with you that three different shades of white will look shxt so I'd go for a stark contrast or Stainless Steel look. Years ago it was all chrome and take it or leave it.
I dont know why but white color crash bars looks messy on all motos, it looks like a DIY project.

Yeah,
I've never seen white spot/auxiliary lights or brackets/ crash bar bags so anything added to white bars is usually black. No offence to anybody out there and it's all a matter of taste. I kind of liked a black bike I saw on this site with white/light coloured bars but then I saw some others on the road which looked a bit Meccano Set with lots of plumbing junctions.

Rich, maybe you are referring to this thread, where i tried to use the collective wisdom of this forum, to come up with a map color codes, but so far no replies. My '22 ATAS ES DCT has about 14 different colors as per this picture (11 colors plus three silvers):

You already have "two shades of white", so getting white, silver or black crush bars will not make too much of a difference, there are also "two blue's", "three silvers", "two blacks" etc

It's pretty hard to "color coordinate" a 14 color bike, custom powder painting crash guards ain't cheap either. With that in mind I bought black HEED's which I think will "tone down" my multicolored bike :)
I also think bugs and dirt on black is less visible, then on white.

Agree... even though I like my '22 "3 colore" a "ALL stealth black with blacked out engine" sure looks good AT,Vstrom,T7 or GSA:

Does anyone have the tri color AT with Altrider white crash bars and do they match the white on the frame?

All black does look sinister. Very Darth Vader.

Rich....may or may not be of interest.
I matched the outback motortrek protection package in white with my tri-colour.
The black bars in my opinion against the tri-colour were not as much of a fit as the white.

Having said that, the white looked a bit much, so I wrapped some paracord around some of the bars to break up the white.

I generally carry paracord with me regardless and it reduces abrasion when the bike goes horizontal too.

As for the shade of white, the bars are a solid white while the white on the plastics as a metallic white, however there is not much difference to the eye when comparing.

I like how you brought the red and blue into it.

The white looks like a better match to the frame than to the plastic.

The only pitfall is its all one length so removing the upper bars means it all comes off. Should have wrapped bars individually to limit the rework 🥴

Still undecided on color. Was leaning white but considering silver. I guess I just have to see a few in person to make up my mind.

Photos never reflect colours like the naked eye does.
To my eyes, the white of the bars matches the plastics moreso than the frame, there's more 'cream' in the plastics than the frame.
To be honest, I've never looked at the bike and noticed any differences in the shades of the white

Ha ha "undecided", I was leaning towards white, but the green/ yellow/brown bug guts would be "very" visible, so had a choice between silver and black with HEED. Black it is.

Altrider states that you can't use factory skid plate with their bars. Heed and Outback appear to work with factory skid plate.

Just leave the skid plate off.
