Apparently tightening the ground wire to the battery is important? Luckily an easy fix after reading up on this site about potential solutions - wish I could remember who to thank specifically.

Yeah, erratic behaviours are typically associated with the electrical system connections (for any bike or cage).

Low tire pressure - bad battery
Cracked windscreen - bad battery
Seat to high - bad battery.....
The battery gets blamed for pretty much everything..
