Doh....I've had on order the tri colour but been thinking about black now as everyone seems to be getting the tri or red.... Walked in to my dealer today to tell him I'm prepared to wait a bit longer and he had a cancelled order in black DCT waiting to go..... Ready for the new reg for the 1st of March.....!!! Be rude not to say yes please I'll have it

Use the "Drag Files Here to Attach!" to add attachments. Or you can email the pics to yourself and copy them to a PC/Mac, upload to any free image hosting provider and then add them here. The advantage of using an image hosting service is you can show off the image in all its glory rather than a small thumbnail pic from an attachment.

There's a good reason everyone is ordering the HRC Tricolor, it's the best looking by a country mile. I had a triple black Corvette once and I absolutely hated it. It's a showroom colour, always gets swirl marks in it and I had to wash it almost every day. Do yourself a favour and keep your HRC Tricolor, I can't even get it here in Canada. I wanted the DCT so I had to get silver and apparently mine won't be here until late June or July. However, I do have a CBR1000RR and a Ducati St4s ABS to ride until it gets here.... :smile2:

Seeing as the heading of this thread is "change of colour" does anyone know if the HRC Tricolor on the AT is done with a vinyl wrap, decals or paint. I assume it's white painted body parts with decals applied, then a clear coat final coat. Does that make any sense.

It looks as though the stripes are decals applied on top of the white and then clear coated on the tank. The other panels seem to have decals on top

Too late done about 200 miles on my black one, no regrets at all I'll be the one standing out from the crowd, and when the black gets too popular I'll wrap it in cadburys chocolate wrapper purple..........yeah baby lol...... or Kawasaki Z900 bottle green.... god I loved my old Z900....anyone else had a colour change !!!!

Check out the wraps or decals from SignatureCD that Rory sent in.
Maybe you'll like some of them better than the Cadbury wrappers.
Or maybe you just want to eat all the Caramilk bars....LOL:grin2:

It's actually a mixture!

Rub your hand over the tank and it's smooth, possibly painted blue centrally, white on the flanks, and possibly a red decal all of which are lacquered over.

The front panels, and rear seat side panels are painted white, and all of the detail is a decal that is not laquered over.

All of the colours are metallic.

It isn't glaringly obvious of the two differing finishes, as the colour matches are exact. The lack of clear coat on the side panels is really only detected by rubbing your hand over them and feeling the edge of the decal.

My bike is a silver DCT model which I'm not particularly excited about.
I was thinking of having the outer rims and bars anodized gold or buying
just the outside rim in gold, if I can. Then I'll paint all of my pieces the white colour, which almost looks like a white metallic pearl paint. My bike won't
be here until late June/Early July. Thanks very much for the information
you sent me, now I know what I have to do.
