Clutch Pack Replacement Question

I am going to replace the clutch pack in my '17 AT this weekend and have a question about the procedure

In the shop manually it saying to align the T1 timing mark and water pump slot before installing the right crankcase cover, is this needed if I don't move the crankshaft or water pump after removing the cover?
