We know the AT and the new Pioneer 1000 will be sharing an engine and DCT gearbox... engines and gears will ship from Japan to the Honda factory in SC before getting put into pioneers...

I wonder if the delay our European members have floated has anything to do with an engine bottleneck back in Japan...

Just told by my local dealer than his allotment of of Pioneers was drastically slashed for next year, and they in the top Honda sales points for Side by Sides in Canada. That's okay Honda, we would prefer to see your engines in motorcycles anyways...

One of the Honda dealers in Colorado Springs have deposits for two AT's. Talking with two sales guys, they were not too excited about how many AT's their dealer may actually receive. No particular reason, just seemed like a Honda thing. For me, this may be a new-product roll out thing more than a Honda thing.

I wonder when there will be available AT's on the showroom floor--after the deposited sales are filled.

Like they feel like Honda has given them too many?

It's still a small market and first production run world wide. I would put money on the fact that there won't be a lot of dealers with a lot of ATs on the floor. Look at the Tiger XCx or the F800GSA - for the first year everyone that was on the floor had a sold sign on before they even put it out. I would imagine it's going to be fairly difficult to pick one up midseason just walking into dealership for the first year or two. Unfortunately.

I think you're right. even though the market launches are staggered I agree that dealers will have a hard time getting allocation after the first batch....

When it comes time to get that second batch I have a feeling it will be the higher volume dealers that get priority first, which will more than likely get claimed rather quick... that's the problem with wanting something right when it releases.
