I've read about the AT's at the Honda Adventure Centre in South Wales.
Honda crash bars take the abuse and save the plastics. Hand guards not so much - most are zip-tied on. Bash plate - one cracked engine case.

Anyone out there crash tested and/or otherwise happy with the Honda crash bars?

I?ve had my Honda crash for a year now. Haven?t encountered any major issues with them. My bike actually fell over whilst stationary a few minutes after the installation and I found no damage other than a scratch on the crash bar itself.

I regretted buying them after I realised that Touratech sold a piece which extends further. I.e. and engine crash bar and a light bar all in one. However, after I saw all the little parts that bolt together to form the light bar I was happy that I didn?t bother with it. (It couldn?t have been that hard I guess)

I believe the OEM "Crash Bars" are slightly improved over the normal ones offered by Honda but are not that solid - they will take an impact but not a large one. Interestingly they are normally sold, by Honda UK, as Accesory Bars on all of thier other bikes.
