Sorry if there's a thread on this already, but if not, I think it's worth flagging up that (for me) there's an issue.
The new panniers do not use the locking cavities built into the rear plastic. Eh? I hear you say. No apparently those cavities do not take pannier lugs but instead take metal frames that stay fixed to the bike and the panniers then clip on to the frames. This is very strange because the rear footrest hanger is designed in the same way as the CRF1000L with a prong that looks like it should poke into a lug on the front of the pannier. But apparently even the plastic ones won't be directly attachable to the bike.

The plastic box option panniers that were fitted to the show bike at the NEC attached as the CRF1000L, only the metal type boxes has the frames.

I got the Plus Pack (not arrived yet) which has the Aluminium topbox and panniers.
Please tell me these are good bits of kit as they cost me a **** fortune! :surprise:
ive been looking about (ive got AT and not ATAS) the OE panniers are not only expensive but need the optional fitting kit on the AT.
All well and good but if and when you drop it they are gonna crack and break.
So this time around I think im gonna get a soft pannier or large mailbag set up.
Not as secure granted, but less initial outlay and no scaffolding on my speak new Butt! lol

FYI that Bumot is expecting to start making new racks after they secure a fitment bike after the holidays. Keeping the Bumot Defenders off my 16, if the new Honda panniers are remotely similar to the old ones NO THANKS

Hi! Do you know if those plastic panniers 2020 fit into crf1000? Looks very similar, but not sure about the support measures.

I don’t believe they do, I think that was one of the other things Honda “upgraded”
But I could be wrong, just remember reading that they did, now just what they did to “upgrade” it , I don’t know..Maybe it was just the cases they upgraded..
