What do you adventure riders carry for emergency chain repair? I have a general list but don’t know what specific items will work with the stock chain:

  • Chain breaker: which one?
  • Chain press tool: which one?
  • Riveting master link: size 525, what other specifics?
  • Spare links: size 525, what other details?

Any suggestions, shopping links, or part numbers would be much appreciated!

I carry a DID chain tool when I go on longer tours. Only had to use it once. It will break/press and peen a new link.
Didn't bring an extra link but probably could. Mine is the factory chain still so I haven't worried about losing a link. Again DID sells peened links and a mechanical fastening link - either would work.
SprocketCentre (maybe center for American spelling) is down near you I think. They can give you all the parts and details. I've had good luck with them on a few bikes.
