Sounds like a great ride. As I have mentioned on this site before, I get together with a group of friends every year somewhere, and this year is Deadwood, SD. Here is the itinerary for 4 of us for the trip out and back from Salem, with 5 days of local riding in the Deadwood area. There will likely be about 20-25 riders in all on-location.

Left Coast to Deadwood

Day 1 – https://goo.gl/maps/mvqyWt5Hm1M2 -417 miles to Halfway, OR
There are rooms in Halfway…

Day 2 – https://goo.gl/maps/ss4ReWNnwqx -372 miles to Lolo
…and the Brew Pud is within walking distance of the motel…

Day 3 - https://goo.gl/maps/nTHY6cpBvVp -391 miles to Cooke City
There is dirt involved here, thanks to Van’s keen eye.

Day 4 - Cooke City to Cody - https://goo.gl/maps/TKMi2usKoTQ2 -232 miles, 6hrs (both ways over The Beartooth and down Dead Indian - The Gourmet Tour.)
Or
Cooke City to Cody - https://goo.gl/maps/9bpZwoJ7BtN2 - 127 miles, 3 hrs ( for pussies and limp-wristed Harley riders)
--Free time in Cody to check out the Museum and/or other local attractions.

Day 5 – Cody to Deadwood https://goo.gl/maps/yrHTaucEKkK2 -426 miles to Deadwood

No interstate included!

Deadwood back to the Left Coast

Day 1 - Deadwood to Lander - https://goo.gl/maps/RGCdCWhbtrM2 - 430 Miles
…again, there is dirt involved.

Day 2 - Lander to Stanley - https://goo.gl/maps/RhKaq52Dj5G2 -458 miles

Day 3 - Stanley to Ukiah - https://goo.gl/maps/dnyoJrp5dfk -419 miles

Day 4 - Ukiah to Salem - https://goo.gl/maps/ruEPK8emYkJ2 -326 miles

With 5 days of riding based in Deadwood, we will likely push towards 5,000 miles in the 14 days.

I second the others. will be an amazing ride. Was fortunate enough to do a ride last April over there as well though not as extensive as to what you're planning. Was in Schwanau Germany for a work trip and we rented GSA1200's just south of there. We did a southern Black Forrest route in Germany and over to the Vosges range in France. Then we meandered down into Switzerland down to Lake Geneva and overnighted in Montreux. From there worked our way over to Interlaken then turned south toward Italy and stopped at Lago Maggiore in Cannobio. Absolutely beautiful. Both days traversing northern Italy we got caught up in a road bicycle race and then next a time trial car road race up a mountain on basically open public road going through villages. This is no BS...on the hill climb trails by the time we had an idea what was going on we had some how gotten by the marshalls to the front and actually went up the hill on the motorbikes. Once I saw the car launch behind us I just pinned it and went for it. It was off the hook...by the time we got near the top everyone was waving at us. Eventually we were stopped. Thus cussed at us in Italian for a while then told up to f*@k off. I'll never forget it. Love Italy and definitely plan going back for more. Next our adventure to us north and over San Bernadino pass...sadly it wasn't the best weather so a lot of the views were obscured. We too went through Liechtenstein and then on to end where we started. 1,600km of which only 10km were on the motorway. All back roads. Tracked everything on Rever too for the memory. Speaking on this trip be careful with your speed in France & Switzerland. They are super rigid and have cameras everywhere....apparently in old rock blasted road tunnels too because i got a speeding ticket in the mail...for only 3km over the limit. The cruise on the GSA made my life a lot easier in that regard. Enjoy the ride and good luck.
