Do you need to take the gear lever linkage rod and gear levers top and bottom off the bike before getting this cover off? Seems like a massive faff just to be able to clean crud out from behind the cover! Or is there a quick tip way!:wink2:

No. Remove the shoulder bolt from the actual shift lever. You can then just swing the lever and linkage out of the way enough to remove the sprocket cover.
