Tip #1. Install a tire pressure monitoring system. May give you an edge next round.

May not also, but then you won't have the opportunity to find out if you don't install it...

Recover well and luck with the rebuild.

Definitely consider for a tubeless conversion. However, tube flats are quite sudden and for some riders the TPMS notification event may still be late.
+1 Tubeless conversion (and that's why I'm on the 2020 ATAS....bought the VFR in 2017 bc it was tubeless and the AT wasn't)

Agree with 'may still be late', but nothing ventured....

I've had TPMS save me a couple of times where a scant few of seconds warning made a difference, once for the front and once for the rear.

Another thought, seal the spokes and still run tubes. Chatted with a KLRista last week on a well trimmed 2nd Gen that did that. Seemed a good compromise.
