Hi All

Been riding well over 30 years, had a stack of bikes over the years, this is my 2nd Adventure bike, I had a Tiger 800XC a couple of years ago.

I was out on a Honda Demo day in Edinburgh last weekend and that sealed the deal for me buying an A/T and yesterday I sat on my new bike, picking it up at the end of the month.

I also own a Honda 2015 VFR800F, I am a bit of a V-Four and Twin fan. I was lined up to buy the new Thruxton R but after riding the A/T and loving the feel and sound of the bike and then weighing up that I could get so much more use out of it throughout the year and allow me not to be forced to use my lovely red VFR over the bad winter months.

Maybe as I retire something like the Thruxton still appeals, but it was just to expensive to sit in the Garage most of the year for now. I like to ride for most of the year.
So after last weekend the rides on both models I made my mind up and I went for the manual CRF Rally colour

Glad to be part of a new Clan, ride safe all.

Hi, sounds like you are getting your bike from Two Wheels in the same batch as mine! Can't wait. Having a centre stand, Scotoiler and Oxford grips fitted too. Just sold an elderly GSX750 and even older FZR to make room! Mike

Hi Mike

You are correct, I think I will go with bobbins rather than centre stand and I will fit oxford grips before the cold weather comes again. You can get them for about £50 to £60. The scottoiler I will get fitted at first service I think. The only other thing is maybe crash bars but I think you can get third party ones for under £200 things to look into :).

When are you getting yours. Are you getting the manual.

Cheers

Welcome Paul, got mine Thursday, tri colour manual (ordered dct but Honda let me down with a delayed delivery date so took manual). Its killing me not being able to take it out as my test not until Tuesday (no pressure). The snow in Aberdeenshire is making it a little easier her being locked away. Might go out later and stick the oxford heated grips on her, £45 delivered from ebay.

Hi Paul, yes, mine is a manual. Thought about bobbins too but thinking that is fine if you are at home but not much use in the back of beyond.

I am not sure exactly when the bike is due, I am heading abroad next week and Two Wheels said they would call me when I was away with the delivery date .. hopefully early May. Also getting a power socket fitted .. mainly so I can charge a phone .. although I am hoping I won't be needing it to call the AA as this is a Honda! After many years of running elderly Ducatis and a Benelli you will understand my caution!!!

Crash bars .. I'll fit those later once there is some feedback available on the aftermarket ones.

Hi Mike

Good point on the centre stand had not given that much thought, I do like a centre stand but was not sure if it would affect any clearance. I might rethink that now you have said it. Are you getting the Tricoloured one. Very nice, I like both colours.

Hope you get it soon, I dont think you will need to worry about realibility.

Excellent. I have managed to get my colour changed to Tri Colour as well, I presume you have taken a manual, I have as well but still keep thinking about a DCT but availability is poor and I am still not totally convinced I want one.

Well I have also changed to a DCT now as well so a wee bit of a wait for me. But I am in no hurry as I have my VFR to see me though the summer, the AT will fill in the rest of the year when it comes along.

Several things changed my mind but I know I have made the right choice.

Ah Scotland, God`s own Country. Where are you from in particular? Have a friend living near Laurencekirk, Kincardineshire. He showed me all the lovely roads. Will be visiting Scotland again from 20-27 may as I`ll be doing a "guided" tour for other Dutch motorcyclists. Welcome!

Maiden Run Yesterday!

Here's a picture of my Tri-Colour out for its first run around the Scottish Borders yesterday.

This is the perfect bike for the hilly and twisty roads around me, great first ride, many smiles per mile!

Yep. I've ordered the silver/black DCT and have been told by the dealer I'm first in line for that combination. My bike should be here in a couple of weeks. Had I asked for the red/black DCT I might be waiting until September.
