I currently ride an 1150GS in Europe and a KLR650 in the US. My hope is that the AT will be the best of both worlds. Currently I mainly do trips in the US, since the list of exciting places with, open spaces, dirt, sand, decent weather and a lack of people shooting at you is shrinking fast on our side of the ocean ...

Manual or DCT?

Did you really mean "shooting at you"?! I am off to Europe when I get my bike (I live in the UK) so I sincerely hope that doesn't happen!

DCT ... leap of faith and I am excited about trying something different.

Nobody will shoot at you in Europe, don't worry. But travelling from Europe, the most exciting places used to be in the Middle East and North Africa / Sahel.
