Took my new DCT AT up to Wales for a very wet weekend, 1250 miles in three days, what a bike, it has exceeded all my expectations and ive been used to a 1190R, (I don't miss it one little bit) it got very wet and dirty, even did some off roading with the ABS off and the G button in ! its still a big bike to off road if you want to ride at any sort of fast pace.
Has anyone else noticed that if you let go of the bars in a straight line on a smooth road you would quickly go into a tank slap !!
I feel it needs a steering damper.
as you can see i fitted my spots off the KTM, think the look OK.
I'm still waiting for pannier rails, engine bars and a bash plate from Touratech, I fitted a PDM60 to run all my electronics from.
hope to do vast mileages on it.
Tim

Hi welcome , funny i have tested riding without holding the handlebars just to test if it tries to give me the " tank slap " , and nothing , bike is very stable .
From what i know the causes of this are riding position , top boxes and panniers , riders size and weight , etc .
Thanks for that , it has been suggested I should increase the preload on the front, and look at bar weights
