Hello,

Does anyone has tested in the AT a higher windscreen from Givi, Touratech, Ermax, etc?
I need one and in Portugal I think only the Honda is available, but I would like to have some information about the others, as they seem to protect more eficient!

thanks

I've put the Ermax on mine - for me it's much better than the stock Honda screen - more upright, with a pronounced curvature to the screen - taller and wider as well

I have Bought a Ermax high screen , not had chance to try it yet but 2 weeks off work from today so its going to get some use .. :)
Iv got the Honda high screen ..... It does protect more
Honda high screen:
- too high, I cut it 3-4cms
- not enough width
- no buffering

Ermax high screen:
- high is perfect
- width is perfect
- buffering

1.78, 32" inseam
I tried a bike with the Honda High Screen. I found on the Motorway if I dropped the seat to the low pos it was perfect. When on the back lanes it was too high like that but if I raised the seat it was great.
I prefer to ride on the high seat setting but for a motorway blast it was handy to be able to drop the seat and hunker down behind the screen.... worked for me. Changing the seat is easier than changing the screen.
Also, no buffering. I'd take that for a little less protection any day.

I am 1.78 and I find that I get a fair bit of buffeting from the standard scree. I think it might be better if it were a bit lower! Maybe one of those vario things is a good idea?

I tried both standard and higher screen last week on the dealer's demo bike. Both put a lot of turbulent air around the helmet.
However, my bet is that the standard screen could be cut down at an obvious point and it just may put the turbulent air below the helmet. (and still look good - maybe even cool)

I have the Honda High screen and to be honest I cant tell any difference! With the standard screen cruising at 70 mph I can't feel anything, neither can the pillion, its super smooth! no turbulence at all.The high screen may give a bit more protection if its raining perhaps? but not sure.

. Seat in low position
. my hight is 1.7
. Shoei Multitech

I'm guessing that puts your helmet about 3 inches lower than mine. But since the view past the top of the touring screen was for me 'distracting' I would be surprised if your view wasn't badly affected by a mud covered screen. And of course if a person is short enough in the body to be well shielded by the screen, he or she is more than likely too short in the leg to be comfortable on a tall adventure bike. Having said that my daughter is about 3 inches shorter than me and yet has legs 2 inches longer ... so it would work for her
I may have another test ride and ask them to remove the screen completely.

Hello,

This week I will instal a Givi high screen and then tell you the results!
I have 1,78m and I use a high seat (900mm)...
Thank you all for the opinions!

... I'm also 6ft 2" - how did you get on with the standard screen at 60-80 mph? I don't mind wind pressure, but hate buffeting.

I am 198 cm , the standard screen is too low for me but if i lower my head down just slightly its perfect no noise , all i need is extra 20-30 mm but all the aftermarket screens seem to be too tall , i would love to try the honda tall screen as that is the one i might be getting .
Checked the difference in height between the std Honda screen and the higher Honda touring screen at the dealer. Only 8 cm whilst the documentation states 13 cm difference. Waiting for the test drive with the 1st demo AT which should arrive at the dealer in 2-3 weeks. I have an adjustable 10 cm high PUIG spoiler which clamps on the top of the screen. When the demo AT arrives I will test the std screen and the std screen with the spoiler. My length is 1.9 m (6' 3").
Just looked at the Givi screens , ... bloody ugly :frown2:
We are planning to offer two or three VStream windshields of different heights once we get our bike delivered here.

Of course with the US deliveries being a little behind normal schedule, we are a few months away, but with a rigid polycarbonate construction, we will be able to make a strong, tall, windshield. We would love to hear what sizes would work best for you, and we will do our best to accommodate as many riders as we can with our sizes.

Thanks!
