Holan vs Hepco Becker

Anyone have a chance to compare the Holans and Hepco Beckers in person? I like how Holan has mounting points built in for driving lights, but the HB's lower guards seem to provide better engine protection.

I haven't seen them in person, but like the way the HB engine guards come up higher than the Holan. Pair them with a wide bashplate and I think the cases would be well protected. Assuming the bashplate will fit with the engine guards, of course.
I like the HB ones but have ordered the GIVI ones as they are a bit cheaper!!!!!

I notice that you have DCT. Are both of the makes you mention available for the DCT model now?

Apparently the Touratech engine guards, in their early incarnations, caused damage to the DCT rather than protecting it (or at least one case was reported and went viral!) I think there is some electronic stuff at the edge of the DCT extended housing that can be whacked by bent bars...

I've heard (advrider I think) of a manual being dropped on the highway in Oz or NZ with the HB bars - and Barkbusters - and it mostly survived...

Coudl you say where you ordered the GIVI bars from and what they cost? Thanks
I didn't think the givi bars were out yet, I have a DCT and waiting desperately to put some on the bike so I can attack the lanes.....lol
According to the GIVI stuff,
in the country where it is produced you can get info here

Yes, the HB lower guards fit both models. Holan has a DCT option as well.

I have ordered them from my dealer in Romford Essex, delivery date is suggested as mid June and at the moment there seems some confusion over weather we get the full upper and lower bars or just the top ones!!!! so no price as yet but I was hoping to get both for around £180 mark!!! as this is/was the price quoted in an ebay ad!!!!!!!!
Anyone have the upper Hepco Becker bars on their bike yet? I ordered a set and should have them in another week.
Installed HB upper bars a couple of months ago, they fit well and look like they will do the job. Was encouraged to purchase them after seeing them mostly save an Aussie bike that went down. Bought from SDMoto in France that included free shipping worldwide. Intend to buy HB lower bars and the B&B Safari bash plate made here in Aus, hoping the two together will fit.

Hope it's not too late Steve - I have the H&B tank and engine guards and the B&B Offroad Safari bashplate, and the engine guards don't fit with the Safari.

At the moment I have the tank guards and Safari fitted, but will have to modify (butcher?) the Safari to fit the engine guards. Having said that, I will be modding the Safari to fit because the engine guards look like seriously good protection.

An option may be to go for the smaller, slightly cheaper bash plate - it doesn't come out as far as the Safari so may fit with the H&B engine guards. I wanted the extra height at the front though, so went with the Safari.
My B&B Safari plate arrived TODAY but that's ok because I really like the protection it offers. The HB engine guards look like they offer great additional protection but I haven't bought them yet so good timing. Appreciate your feedback and look forward to hearing how the final fitting / butchering works out.
