Honda officially confirmed it is bringing back the Africa Twin, with the adventure bike expected to arrive in U.S. dealerships in early 2016. To the surprise of very few, the 2016 Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin is the final production version of the True Adventure prototype revealed at EICMA last fall. UPDATED: added second video from Honda.

Details remain scarce, just as they were when the prototype was introduced. The True Adventure was caked in mud and camouflage paint but we can see from Honda’s teaser images the production model stays fairly close to the look of the prototype. Honda also released the teaser video below as part of its “True Adventure” video series that gives us an idea of what the new Africa Twin will sound like.

looking good Admin, can't wait to ride. I'm first on the list at my local Honda Dealer and am planning to purchase a 4x4 Sprinter configured as a sleeper/toy hauler for some adventure!

Sweet! Can't wait to see that. I only recall ever seeing one setup like that, good use for a sprinter :D

So unfortunate the only 4x4 van on the market is a sometimes unreliable rustbucket... Isn't ford bringing AWD for the big transit? Might be a worth while investigation...

Heard there will be some good growth in that segment, if Ford is actually planning to enter and go AWD, i can see a lot of folks going that direction. Plus their dealer network is more attractive.

whoops sorry, my mistake. Ford has no plans to bring AWD transits to NA. Sequestered in Europe for the foreseeable future...

I wonder if Honda Canada will release the bike at the same time?

That sucks for those that wanted it. Demand for AWD seems to be growing enough that it would be a profitable move for Ford.

Saw a tweet for a May/June availability. Wow! That's a long way off yet.
