Honda Low seat option

Regarding the Honda / Factory / OEM - "Low seat"...
does anyone know if this is just created by less foam / padding, or if the actual pan is a different design that somehow creates this extra inch lower seat height?

Just less foam. I got a gel insert put in mine but the guy had to remove all the foam where the insert was. It did make things better but not much :(
I now have a SeatConcepts one piece and it is much nicer but sadly it is the same height as the standard seat in the low position.

Pic of my low seat, you can see the gel insert through the holes.

I suspected as much. Didn't see Honda making a special pan for the low seat option. That said, I'd be more inclined to DIY the original seat... reshape / maybe some better foam and gel..
There is not really much you can do unless you want it to be higher. The standard gel pads are as thick as the foam that was in it so you can't have foam and gel as far as I can see.
On my 2018 I have the low seat and only found it uncomfortable on longer journeys . Found that the Cool Covers made a world of difference ,its a 3d mesh that does raise you very slightly but gives a cushioning effect , stops water collecting under you and gives some ventilation which in the summer is very welcome but not quite as good in really cold extremes

I just received mine. It does help alot in regards of me touching the floor but now the foot pegs are closet so my knees are bent more. (Noticeable)
