Added a Remus Okami to the bike.

Nice exhaust but with the baffle in it sounded a bit too muffled to me, a little raspy...

With it out, it's a bit too loud for around town use and looks a little odd too... But it did feel like it made a bit more power.

So I took the baffle and cut off the section of it that was pinched closed, obstructing the exhaust flow. Then put it back in.

Now it looks good and the sound is perfect. The power feels good too.

Link pipe or straight slip on

I have a Remus Hexacone can from a previous bike in carbon which has only seen 3000 miles use. I would like to fit it to my Africa twin when I get it (on order). I guess I will need a mounting bracket from Remus or maybe adopt the existing one. But is there an adaptor pipe I need or is it a straight slip on. Anyone know the pipe diameter into the can?

How long is the Okami as a comparison. The hexacone was quite expensive and would like to reuse it if I can. And it looks good?
Not sure offhand, I can measure the can later. I usually get good money for my used exhausts that covers a lot of the new one.

Looks like a tail tidy would be good too.
Won't be good when you ride though mud. ;-)

I tried this mod out a couple of nights ago. I didn't even bother trying the exhaust with the dB-killer in. It sounded pretty amazing with it out but even with earplugs it was just too dam loud for longer rides and a little obnoxious for my neighborhood in general. The modified dB killer however sounds very good. It ... growls far more readily and with a better note than stock, still gives the torque bump but isn't obnoxiously loud.

Thanks for the tip. I think this is how Remus should have shipped the pipe in the first place.

I could not break the weld on my baffle and ended up rounding off the hex socket of the bolt - there is no way I can shift it now!! My own fault for being too hamfisted.

I've been running the Remus without the baffle since new & although it sounds amazing it drones a lot on the highway. Tried putting the baffle in but it wasn't much if any louder than the stock muffler & wasn't very throaty so I decided to try this mod & I agree. This is the way the baffle should have came from the factory, can hear a nice growl in town but cant hear it on the freeway until you get on it. I cut it with a pipe cutter to leave a nice clean cut in case I didnt like it I could tack weld it back together easily... Thought about taking off another inch or two & see how it sounds....
