Looking at one to commute to work

approx 20 miles from Essex into London, few questions for anyone

what tank range are people getting

What average MPG on a commute

Have you chosen the manual or DCT

I love mine, and live near Chelmsford I reckon I get about 240 miles per tank at the moment and its showing avg mpg at 60! first service is booked in for next week, so will have full power available from then but to be honest running in speeds are fine for me 70-80 mph, but I will see what its got to give once or twice on the open road hehehe!

240 to a tank is great, works for me, although hooning around the Essex lanes I have no doubt it will drop

Unless you ride like a complete demon you should easily see 50 mpg, thats what I'm getting in my DCT. The AT is a good commuter, nice bit of height to see over London's traffic, I used my XRV 750 thus for years.

BUT - whilst I no longer commute I'm glad as I have the DCT and I find it's slow control (really slow, 1-5 mph) hard to manage, I wouldn't want to be squeezing through traffic down the A13 like I used to on my manual XRV.

I love my DCT, but having ridden it for a while now (1,000 miles) I would have gone manual if still messing with heavy traffic daily.

Take a very decent test ride is my advise and make sure you replicate the conditions you will encounter when you do.

A13, that will be the way I go in, the only place I think will be a little awkward is leading up to the Rothehrithe tunnel, did that journey a few years back on various bikes
